He was wearing shorts and Nike sneakers in December when he was found dead in the woods of North Amityville — a man without a name in the files of the Suffolk police homicide unit.

Detectives released sketches of the man Thursday night and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

The body was discovered at about 11:45 a.m. Dec. 30 in a wooded area just north of the Southern State Parkway and west of Route 110, police said.

The man did not appear to be a victim of foul play, police said, and was wearing three-quarter-length denim shorts and white sneakers.

He had short, dark hair and was described as Hispanic, police said. He appeared to be between 25 and 40 years old and was about 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, authorities said.

Other details on the case were not immediately available.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. Callers may remain anonymous.
