Suffolk police said they are asking the public for help in finding two men who shot and killed a 23-year-old Wyandanch man Sunday night as he and a friend came home from a convenience store.

Detective Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky, commander of the homicide squad, said the suspects were waiting in the back of the house on 13th Street where Roman C. Taylor rented a room.

After they saw the two men, Roman and his friend, whom police did not identify, ran into a vestibule inside the house, Pelkofsky said.

One of the suspects fired a single shot and struck Roman in the head, Pelkofsky said. Roman was pronounced dead at the scene. His friend was not hurt, Pelkofsky said.

There is no motive at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Or to call detectives at 631-852-6392. All calls will be confidential.
