Suffolk County police on Tuesday released surveillance-camera photographs of a suspect in a Medford petty larceny and asked the public's help identifying her.

The suspect took a wallet, containing about $900, that another customer had left on the deli counter at the Giunta's Meat Farms supermarket at 1610 Rte. 112 on June 23 about 3:50 p.m., Suffolk Crime Stoppers said.

"The suspect left the store but returned a short time later with the wallet after she had removed the cash. The suspect reported that she had found the wallet in the parking lot," the Tuesday crime alert said.

"The suspect appeared to be in her late 40s, heavy set, and she had shoulder length, dark hair worn in a mullet style. She was wearing a green sleeveless shirt, dark-colored shorts, sneakers and sunglasses."

Crime Stoppers and the Fifth Precinct Crime Section ask anyone with information to call 800-220-TIPS.
