A Southold man, apparently upset because of a domestic squabble, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of leaving the scene of an accident on state Route 25, Southold Town Police said.

Evan Weingold, 48, of Lower Road, left his residence and was involved in an accident near Jockey Creek Drive at about 1:45 a.m., police said.

He fled and had to be tracked down with help from the Riverhead Police Department's canine unit, police said.

Weingold was treated for minor injuries at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, then held overnight for arraignment, police said. Weingold also faces several traffic violations, police said.
