A Sag Harbor man was arrested and charged with false personation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle Monday after police said he was stopped on suspicion of speeding in Southampton and gave them a fake license.

Southampton Town police said Carlos Solares, 24, was pulled over on County Road 39 at 6:17 p.m. on suspicion of speeding. Police said he presented the officer with a driver's license that identified him as another driver.

Police said an investigation revealed Solares had a suspended license for failure to pay a fine and was arrested on the false personation charge.

He was released on station house bail and will appear in court later.
