State Police said they are investigating a report of a stabbing at 10:30 a.m. Thursday on the Shinnecock Reservation in Southampton.

A trooper at the Riverhead barracks said the report was still under investigation, and no additional details were immediately available.

Trooper Frank Bandiero, spokesman at State Police Troop L headquarters in Farmingdale, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An employee at the Shinnecock Indian Nation Tribal Office on Thursday said tribal spokeswoman Beverly Jensen could not immediately be reached for comment.
