Police: Teen shot on street in Brentwood
A 17-year-old who went to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with gunshot wounds to his arm Tuesday night told police he was shot twice by an unknown assailant in Brentwood -- and that he saw a Jeep speed off after the shots were fired.
Suffolk County police did not release the identity of the teen, who they said sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The teen was shot twice in the upper left arm, police said.
Police said officers responding to Southside Hospital learned of the shooting there at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The teen told police he was on Hilltop Drive in Brentwood when he was shot, but said he didn't see where the shots came from -- only that he saw a Jeep speed away in the aftermath.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Third Squad detectives at 631-854-3000.
