A Bronx man and a Manorville man were arrested early Monday on charges they were racing their cars on an LIE service road in Yaphank, Suffolk County police said.

Geovanny Rosario, 26, of 1520 Sheridan Ave., in the Bronx, and Antonio Mangogna, 20, of 35 Ryerson Ave., in Manorville, are charged with participating in an unauthorized speed contest, police said.

They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.

About 2 a.m. two highway patrol officers came upon the race when they found about 30 vehicles gathered along the service road off the Long Island Expressway, according to a news release.

Highway Patrol Officer Todd Collier and Highway Patrol Sgt. Peter Clancy pulled over the two racing vehicles and "arrested the drivers who were obstructing traffic on Express Drive North to allow the speed contest to occur," the release said.

Rosario and Mangogna also are charged with disorderly conduct for blocking the roadway, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded.
