Police are investigating a one-vehicle crash early Thursday in Central Islip that left the driver critically injured.
Keith Norton, 43, of Central Islip, was driving his 2011 Dodge pickup truck south on Connetquot Avenue, north of Napoli Street, at 1:25 a.m. "when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree," Suffolk County police said in a news release.
Norton was in critical condition at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore Thursday afternoon. A female passenger was treated for minor injuries at the hospital, police said.
Police impounded the pickup truck for a safety check. The investigation is ongoing.
