Two employees of a Smithtown lounge face nuisance charges after allegedly allowing underage patrons to drink alcohol and smoke tobacco, Suffolk County police said.

The Fourth Precinct crime section arrested Amar Patel, 26, of 8 Williams Blvd. in Lake Grove, and Aaron Akaberi, 24, of 99 Fawn Lane East in South Setauket, at about 1 a.m. Saturday after an inspection of the Fire and Ice Hookah Lounge, 413 W. Main St., police said.

Police said they had been getting tips of underage drinking and smoking at the club and found people drinking at the lounge during the inspection. The lounge also had overcrowded conditions, police said.

Patel and Akaberi were each charged with two counts of criminal nuisance and one count of operating a bottle club without a license under the New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law. Police also arrested three underage youths outside the club and charged them with criminal possession of marijuana. Patel and Akaberi will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip.

The Smithtown Fire Marshal and the Suffolk County Department of Health also issued fire code and health code violations, police said.
