The latest Suffolk County police auto auction, with dozens of cars and trucks for the public to bid on beginning at $500, will take place Saturday in Westhampton.
All sales are "as is" — and cash only.
Held rain or shine, the auction will take place at the police impound facility at 100 Old Country Rd., with live bidding beginning at 9 a.m.
There is a short preview from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the day of the auction. Prospective bidders also can attend previews on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A wide range of vehicles will be available, including: A 2013 Mini Cooper, a 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300, a 2005 Hummer H2 and a 2007 Ford Mustang.
Want an old Toyota 4-Runner? The auction’s got them. How about a Chevrolet Impala? Got them, too. Volkswagens, Nissans, Toyotas, Jeeps, BMWs?
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.
There’s even a 2004 Jaguar X-type four-door sedan.
The auction list features 100 cars, trucks and trailers in all.
A valid government-issued ID is required to register. All bidders must be at least 18 years of age. Bids over $2,000 require an immediate non-refundable deposit of $2,000 — plus 25% of the remaining balance. Full payment and deposits are due immediately after the winning bid and, if not made within 30 minutes, the vehicle will be rebid. Upon payment, all vehicles must be removed from the impound lot within one business week — or a $30 daily storage fee will be charged.
