Police: W. Babylon man rams police car
Three separate times between May and August, police said, Adrian Spooner sold crack cocaine to undercover officers in Farmingdale and East Farmingdale. Police said when they tried to arrest the West Babylon man Wednesday night, Spooner drove head-on into a police car.
Spooner, 22, of Straight Path, was arrested after a fight with officers, Nassau County police said. He was charged with three counts of sale and one count of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, as well as second-degree assault and resisting arrest. He faces arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the incident Wednesday occurred at 9:35 p.m. after detectives identified themselves to Spooner.
Police said he "allegedly drove his vehicle head-on into a police vehicle" and, while attempting to flee, continued to "fight with the officers/detectives" and even threw a "bag of what is believed to be crack/cocaine" at them.
