Police: West Islip woman charged with DWI
A West Islip woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday after she allegedly crashed her car into a pole in Riverhead, then drove off, Southold Town police said.
Police said Melissa Malkush, 29, crashed her vehicle into a utility pole shortly before 1:30 a.m., then fled.
She was found in Cutchogue, where police arrested her and charged her with driving while intoxicated.
Malkush was taken to police headquarters, and held for arraignment.
