A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday morning in Cutchogue when she stepped off the sidewalk and was struck by a pickup truck, police said.
The woman had just gotten off an S92 Suffolk County bus at Route 25 and Depot Lane about 6:20 a.m., police said.
The late model Ford pickup truck “came around the corner and struck a woman,” a Southold Town officer at the scene told Newsday.
The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with a broken femur, the officer said.
“She was alert and conscious, so that’s a good sign,” the officer said.
