Police are searching for a woman who cashed a stolen check at a Pennsylvania bank in September.
Police are trying to find a woman who cashed a stolen check at a Pennsylvania bank in September - a check they said defrauded the Wading River office of Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York out of more than $11,000.
The incident occurred on Sept. 1 at the Sovereign Bank in Wyokissing, Pa., Suffolk County police said. The woman who cashed the check was caught on a surveillance video.
Police said the check, a payment for union dues, had been mailed by the chief financial officer of Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York on Aug. 19.
The check was mailed to the union's district office in New York City, police said. But the check disappeared at some point, police said, and then it was cashed - with an altered name of the payee listed on the check.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
