Police: Wyandanch man stable after shot in abdomen

A Wyandanch man was shot in the abdomen after arguing with four men in a car Wednesday in North Amityville, Suffolk County police said.

The incident occurred at 4 p.m. on Williams Street, according to police. The victim, Cashawn Winbush, 24, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage by private car, then was transferred by ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, police said.

He is listed in stable condition, police said.

Police said the assailants fled the scene in a black four-door BMW 5 series sedan. Police are asking anyone with information to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls remain confidential, police said.
