Port Jefferson completes $200G upgrade to marina

Brookhaven officials say they have completed a $200,000 project to upgrade a town-owned marina in Port Jefferson.

The improvements include new decking extended to the sea wall and electric service capable of providing power to boats up to 150 feet long, town officials said in a news release.

The town also installed a new fire prevention system and new bathrooms. The marina tower has been renovated with new doors, windows, siding, electrical services and energy-efficient lighting, officials said.

Additional improvements including new floating docks and pilings are to be added to the sea wall this fall, officials said. The marina closes on the first Sunday of November.

The marina features 174 boat slips, seasonal docking for town residents, transient docking for residents and nonresidents, a boat ramp, pump-out boat and other services. For information on obtaining a boat slip, call 631-451-9122.
