A pregnant woman and her 9-month-old child were struck by a vehicle Saturday night in North Amityville and taken to a hospital where the child was treated for serious injuries, Suffolk police said.

The woman was pushing the infant in a stroller at about 7 p.m. across Route 110 when they were struck, police said.

They were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The extent of the mother's injuries were not known but they were not life threatening, police said.

The driver stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said.

Police said no charges have been filed.
