A 20-year-old woman who is 28 weeks pregnant was taken to a hospital complaining of stomach pain after a two-car accident on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station on Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the woman, her husband and son, 2, were traveling east on Jericho in a 2001 Honda when a 2008 Honda headed west attempted to turn into the Huntington Station Post Office parking lot.

After the cars collided, witnesses told police the pregnant woman was taken into the post office.

"They brought her in to get her out of the rain and she said she was pregnant, and so we called her an ambulance," said a postal employee, who asked not to be identified.

Police said the woman's son and her husband, 28, were also taken to the hospital, the son with facial bleeding from the crash. The woman's condition was not known.

Police said the family lived in East Northport but did not release their identities.

The other driver, 48, also was taken to the hospital with facial wounds.

Police said no criminality was involved and said no one was cited.
