A pregnant Lindenhurst woman who was struck by a car as she walked in a parking lot in Melville during the weekend was in stable condition Sunday at a Manhasset hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Anika Vorndamme-Cajigal, 37, suffered serious injuries, including two pelvic fractures, when she was hit Saturday afternoon by a 2004 Honda driven by Edward Henselder, 79, of Melville, as she stood near her car in the parking lot of White Post Farms on Old Country Road, Suffolk County police said.

Vorndamme-Cajigal, who is six months pregnant, was taken to Huntington Hospital after the incident, which police said occurred when Henselder's foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal, and he hit the woman and five parked cars, police said.

Vorndamme-Cajigal was later transferred to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where she was listed in stable condition on Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Police said there was no apparent criminality involved, and no charges were filed.
