Prices Bend Beach in Eatons Neck is closed to bathing after higher than acceptable bacterial levels were found, Suffolk County health officials said.

Copiague Harbor Beach, where high bacterial levels were also found, remains closed, officials said. That beach was closed May 21.

Bathing in contaminated water "can result in gastrointestinal illness, as well as infections of the eyes, ears, nose and throat," said Dr. James Tomarken, Suffolk health commissioner.

For information on affected beaches, see suffolkcountyny.gov/health.
