THE BUDGET

The district proposes a $7,844,539 budget for 2015-16, a 1.39 percent increase from the current $7,737,099. The local tax levy would increase 1.17 percent, from $6,774,299 to $6,853,789.

This increase is within the state's tax-cap limit of 1.17 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. School taxes on the average single-family home would increase 1.57 percent, from $1,968 to $1,999.

The proposed budget includes a salary range increase ranging from 2 percent to 3.4 percent for teachers. There are no cuts in services, staff or programs.
