Police: Bicyclist seriously injured in Montauk crash
East Hampton Town police are investigating a Friday automobile accident that seriously injured a bicyclist in Montauk.
Police said in a news release that Raymond Bimson, 32, of Montauk, was seriously injured when he was struck by a 1995 Volvo driven by Raymond Eng, 80, at about 4 a.m. on Flamingo Avenue, south of Falcon Place.
Eng, of Briarwood, Queens, was not injured. Police said the bicyclist "was believed to be in the center of the roadway at the time of the collision."
Police did not provide details of Bimson's injuries but said he was listed in serious but stable condition at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Eng's Volvo was impounded for a safety inspection.
