Reginald Celifie of Lindenhurst killed in hit-and-run crash, Suffolk police say

He was driving to pick up his mom up for dinner. He never made it.
Now, police are searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle that slammed into Reginald Celifie’s Honda at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in North Amityville, killing the Lindenhurst man.
Celifie, 32, was going east on Brefni Street when he was struck by a Chevrolet Trailblazer heading south on Geraldine Avenue, an intersection with a stop sign, authorities said.
The driver of the Chevy, which had been reported stolen Dec. 8, ran away, police said.
Celifie’s family told News 12 Long Island that he was going to take his mother out to dinner. They urged the driver to surrender.
“How can you live with this on your conscience, that you just killed somebody?” sister-in-law Dominique Bonapart said.
The suspect was about 20 years old, clean-shaven, with a slim build at 5 feet, 8 inches tall, police said. He wore blue jeans, a black-hooded sweatshirt and a black wool hat, police said.
