Registration is now open for a summer children’s guitar camp run by the Town of Babylon.
Babylon residents aged 10 to 19 are eligible to participate in the program, which will take place in two three-week sessions, according to the town’s recreation guide.
The first session runs from June 26 to July 14, the second from July 17 to Aug. 4.
The camp will offer classes for beginner guitarists who are 10 or older, and another for players with at least one year of experience and are 14 or older, according to the recreation guide.
The classes run for 1 hour and 15 minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They will train students in a variety of styles, including blues and rock, and offer instruction in music theory as well, according to the guide.
The camp costs $85 per student. Those interested can sign up on the town’s website, townofbabylon.com, or in person at the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs office, 151 Phelps Lane in North Babylon.
