The search is on for a boat owner in Lloyd Harbor after police found blood on an empty sailboat, according to reports.

The Suffolk Marine Bureau is investigating the case off the coast of Huntington, but police have not confirmed that somebody is missing, according to News 12 Long Island.

A boat, named Caramar, was found in the harbor at about 8 p.m. Thursday night, but nobody was aboard and there were traces of blood inside the vessel, News 12 reported. Sources told News 12 that the boater was seen Thursday during the day, but had not returned and the owner's car still was parked in a nearby lot.

NBC New York is reporting that the boat's owner signed into the marina, but never signed out. The police searched the area for a few hours Thursday night to no avail and will continue the search today, the report said.
