Riverhead cops seek bank robber
Riverhead police are looking for a man who they say robbed a bank in Wading River Thursday afternoon.
Police said they responded to Bridgehampton National Bank at 1:30 p.m. According to witnesses, an unarmed man entered the bank, and handed the teller a bag and a note demanding money. Police said the teller complied, and the suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect was described as a male in his 40s wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans and boots. He was last seen going westbound on foot.
Riverhead detectives are investigating the case and asked that anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts contact Riverhead Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500
