A man with dementia who was reported missing Monday while running an errand to a local pharmacy, sparking a Silver Alert, has been found safe and unharmed, police said.

Suffolk County police said Robert Barrett, 75, of Yaphank, was found Tuesday.

Barrett had last been seen Monday at 7:45 p.m., when he left home in his red 2012 Honda Accord headed to a Rite Aid store on County Road 101.

The Silver Alert program allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
