Ronkonkoma man dies after crashing into a home

A Ronkonkoma man died Saturday after he lost control of his car and crashed into a house Suffolk County police said.

Dominick Hatzmarkos, 47, was eastbound on Forest Court in Ronkonkoma about 1:45 p.m. when he lost control of his 2008 Nissan Maxima, police said. The car hit a fence and then crashed into a residence at 5 East Drive.

Hatzmarkos was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The occupants of the home were not injured. Police are investigating the accident.
