A Ronkonkoma man was seriously injured Friday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a curb, Suffolk County police said.

Jared Schraner, 26, was driving west on Express Drive North in Ronkonkoma "at high rate of speed" at 11:30 p.m. when he crashed his 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle, authorities said.

Schraner was taken by the Lakeland Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Police impounded the motorcycle for a safety check.
