Route 111 closed after car hits utility pole, police say

Route 111 in Hauppauge was closed Wednesday after a car slammed into a utility pole and rolled on its side, Suffolk County police said.
The closure, between Schoolhouse Lane and Kings Highway, is expected to last through 10 p.m., police said.
A 911 call reporting a vehicle on its side came in at 11:56 a.m., police said.
The driver escaped with minor injuries, police said.
