Route 454 east in Hauppauge reopens

All lanes of eastbound Route 454 were closed in Hauppauge Monday morning following a serious two-car accident, Suffolk County police said.

The crash was reported at 6:45 a.m. The New York State Department of Transportation said the road was closed at Simeon Woods Road at 6:49 a.m. It had been reopened by early afternoon, police said.

Police said details of the crash were not immediately available. Details regarding injuries also were not available.
