A 76-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle hit a tree Tuesday on County Route 94 in Riverside, State Police said.

Saundra Highland of Riverside was pronounced dead at the scene after her 2010 Ford "drifted into the center median and struck a tree" at about 3:24 p.m., police said in a news release.

Highland was the lone occupant of the vehicle in the accident, and police are asking witnesses to the crash to call the Riverside barracks at 631-208-9002.
