The Islip town board has agreed to allow a farmer’s market to operate at the historic Islip Grange every Saturday this summer and fall.

In an unanimous vote at Tuesday’s board meeting, the board members approved a resolution to allow the Sayville Farmer’s Market to run from May 14 through November 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market will not run on October 1.

“It has been demonstrated that a farmer’s market at this location has achieved the intended purpose of adding to the quality of life of local residents by providing an opportunity to more conveniently purchase local produce and related products,” according to the resolution.
