A section of Jericho Turnpike in West Hills has reopened after a school bus, empty except for its driver, slammed into a utility pole, officials said.

The 6:18 a.m. collision in West Hills, between Round Swamp and Hartman Hill roads, knocked down three poles, the wires and a transformer, according to the police and PSEG Long Island.

The bus driver apparently did not suffer serious injuries, Suffolk County police said.

About 450 of the utility's customers lost power for about 10 minutes, a PSEG spokeswoman said.
