Police said the male bus driver and a female aide were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Four preschoolers were transported to hospitals for evaluation after a school minibus they were on struck a guardrail and overturned on its side late Tuesday morning in Commack, Suffolk County said.

Police said the children, who were not reported to be injured, all attend the Building Blocks Preschool in Commack, adding that all parents and guardians were notified.

Police said the male bus driver and a female aide were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The incident occurred on Express Drive South, just west of Wicks Road, at about 10:35 a.m., police said. It was not immediately clear what caused the bus to strike the guardrail.

Suffolk police Tuesday evening said they had no update on the crash or the injuries.

The preschool is affiliated with the Commack School District, which directed inquiries to Building Blocks.

A staff member answering the phone at Building Blocks Tuesday declined to comment on the situation.
