Police investigated a bomb threat Monday at East Islip Middle School, but a spokeswoman for the school district said the matter was "a student disciplinary issue" and so there was "no viable threat."

The incident at the school on Redmen Street was reported in a 911 call placed by school officials at 11:05 a.m., police said.

Suffolk County police said Third Precinct officers and officers from the Emergency Services Unit went to the scene in Islip Terrace. The middle school is in the same complex as East Islip High School.

A spokeswoman for the school district said no evacuation was ordered and that the incident appears to be simply a disciplinary issue.
