The NYPD harbor unit is continuing to sweep the East River for the construction worker who fell Friday from the Throg's Neck Bridge.

The worker, identified by news reports as John Massas, 35, of the Bronx, fell from the bridge just after 8 a.m. on Friday as he adjusted or changed a safety harness. He is presumed dead, as no one is expected to survive in the water for more than eight hours, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard suspended its search after 13 hours on Friday. The NYPD harbor units have continued over the weekend to sweep the area to look for the missing worker, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Massas, who was married with three children, worked for the Islandia-based Nuco Painting Corp., a subcontractor hired by El Sol Contracting & Construction of Maspeth, Queens.
