The body of a Huntington Station man who went missing earlier this month while kayaking has been recovered, authorities said.
The body of Selvin Vasquez-Enamorado, 24, was recovered in the waters off Clinton, Connecticut, on Saturday, Suffolk police said in a Sunday news release.
The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search for Vasquez-Enamorado on June 12. He had disappeared the evening before near Crab Meadow Beach in Northport, a Coast Guard spokesman said then.
The Huntington harbor master had notified the Coast Guard around 5:45 p.m. on June 12 that the man was missing, the Coast Guard said in a news release.
His kayak, paddle and fishing pole were found shortly after 6 p.m. about a mile north of the beach, Coast Guard Petty Officer Steven Strohamaier said.
