A Selden man was killed Wednesday after a car he was repairing at his Selden home fell on top of him, Suffolk police said.

Nadeem Ahmad, 50, was working on a 2002 Toyota Camry in the driveway of his Tuscala Street home, the Suffolk County Police Department said in a news release. Shortly after 8 a.m., the car "became dislodged from the jack," rolled down the driveway and trapped Ahmad beneath it, police said.

Ahmad was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead. A police spokeswoman could not immediately say how the department was notified of the accident.

Homicide detectives are investigating Ahmad’s death. The spokeswoman said the investigation was protocol and that Ahmed's death was not considered suspicious.
