Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Selden this afternoon on Monday, Nov. 11, 2021. Credit: Christopher Sabella

A woman standing on Middle Country Road in Selden on Monday was struck and killed by an SUV, Suffolk County police said.

On Monday night, police said they were still attempting to positively identify the victim.

The Dodge Durango hit the woman at 4:58 p.m., according to police.

Neither the driver of the Durango nor a passenger were injured, police said. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

The driver stayed at the scene and is not facing charges, police said.

Police detectives ask anyone with information on the crash to call 631-854-8652.
