Services for cop killed in wrong-way crash

A memorial service for New York City Police Officer Andre Menzies has been scheduled for Sunday at Grace Community Church in Amityville, where he was a member.

Menzies, 35, a father of five children from North Babylon, was killed Nov. 15 on the Northern State Parkway by a suspected drunken driver going the wrong way. Since Menzies' death, there have been two other wrong-way crashes on Long Island's roads. Those collisions did not result in death.

The church is working to establish the Andre Menzies Fund to help provide financial support for his wife and their five children, said Pastor Robert Burgess.

The service is scheduled for 4 p.m.
