Several people were taken to a hospital after a two-car crash Saturday night in West Hills in which one of the cars caught on fire, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 11:29 p.m. on West Jericho Turnpike by East Gate Drive, according to Suffolk Police.

One of the vehicles hit a utility pole, causing the wires to come down, police said.

Meanwhile, one of the vehicles became engulfed in flames.

Michael DePasquale, third assistant chief of the Huntington Manor Fire Department, said all the occupants were able to get out of both vehicles, and none appeared to have life-threatening injuries.

The occupants were taken to Huntington Hospital. The roadway was closed for about an hour and a half, police said.
