A barrage of gunfire outside a Suffolk home left three people wounded late Thursday, one seriously, police said.

Detectives said they had no motive for the shooting on Delaware Avenue in Bay Shore at about 10:30 p.m., where at least 11 shots were fired at a group of men hanging out on a driveway and stoop, Suffolk police said. None of the injuries was life-threatening, although one man required surgery for an abdomen wound.

Police said about 10 relatives and friends were sitting and talking when two people began shooting from next to a neighboring house, sending the group scattering. More shots were fired as the pair advanced before they fled on foot.

A 17-year-old was shot in the left leg while a 20-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach. A 25-year-old was grazed in the neck.

At the home Friday, a group of men identified themselves as among the intended targets but said they saw little of their attackers. The 17-year-old, still wearing a hospital wrist band, said the two other victims were his cousins and were expected to recover; he declined to elaborate.

"Shots rang off, everybody ran, that's it," another man said.

The victims were brought to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, police said. The 20-year-old was to undergo surgery Friday for what police described as an in-and-out wound to the stomach. He was also shot in the leg. The 25-year-old was expected to be released Friday.

"As far as motive, we have no hard information," said Det. Lt. Matthew Sullivan of the Third Squad. No arrests have been made.
