Signal trouble at Babylon delayed Long Island Rail Road service across the branch Saturday night.

Service was suspended both ways between Freeport and Montauk for a time before it was restored around 9:40 p.m., the railroad said.

Trains at Bellmore, Babylon, Bay Shore, Massapequa Park, Speonk, Sayville and Amityville were held because of the signal issue, the railroad said.

LIRR officials did not immediately respond to a phone call seeking more information.
