Six people have been arrested in connection with a string of Eastern Suffolk burglaries that prompted Southampton Town and county police to join forces, authorities said Tuesday.

The burglars hit commercial establishments in Southampton and Brookhaven towns, including Radio Shack in Hampton Bays and Deli Delight in East Quogue, and they got away with electronics, cigarettes, lottery tickets and other items, Southampton Town police said.

The investigation started in mid-September, when it was clear that commercial burglaries were taking place during the overnight hours, said Southampton Det. Sgt. Lisa Costa. The same pattern was emerging in Brookhaven within the areas of the Fifth and Seventh precincts, police said.

On Friday, Southampton police arrested and charged two Mastic Beach men with third-degree burglary: Daniel Williams, 38, and Michael Bellmonte, 36, both of 168 Mastic Beach Rd.

The same day, Fifth and Seventh precinct officers made four arrests. James Connor, 32, of West Hempstead, was charged with third-degree burglary. Albert Roberts, 52, also of 168 Mastic Beach Rd. in Mastic Beach, was charged with fourth- and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Ashley Depietto, 21, of Lindenhurst, and Thomas Kenney, 28, of Mastic Beach, were both charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance.
