Smith Point Triathlon will close part of William Floyd Parkway, restrict beach access
Expect road closures along the William Floyd Parkway Sunday morning in Shirley and Mastic Beach, as a field of competitors participate in the annual Smith Point Triathlon, police said.
Suffolk County police said the parkway will be closed in both directions between Robinwood Drive and Smith Point County Park between 6 and 11 a.m.
Beach access will also be restricted, with the park closed between 6 and 11 a.m.
"There will be no public access during these times," police said in a statement Friday, adding: "The closure includes all public access to the beach, outer beach, and campgrounds."
