Sound Beach driver hurt when car overturns, Riverhead cops say

A Sound Beach woman was injured Tuesday morning when the car she was driving in Calverton overturned and hit a guard rail, Riverhead police said.
Police identified the driver as Alexis Hondropulos, 25, and said she was taken for treatment of her injuries to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. The nature of her injuries was unknown; Hondropulos was the only person in the car.
According to a preliminary police report, the accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. while Hondropulos was driving a Subaru Legacy on River Road near Railroad Avenue and for unknown reasons struck the guard rail.
Information about the direction Hondropulos was traveling in on River Road and other details were not immediately available, police said.
