Southampton man charged with DWI
A Southampton man is charged with drunken driving after he ran over a mailbox in North Sea on Tuesday, Southampton Town police said.
Darwin N. Tamay, 33, was driving on Straight Path at about 8:52 p.m. when he became involved in a minor accident and struck the mailbox, police said.
Police said he was found to be intoxicated and taken to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing.
He is charged with driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
His arraignment information was not immediately available.
