Southampton crash: 1 person killed, another seriously injured, police say

A Riverhead man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that also seriously injured a second person on Wednesday morning, Southampton Town Police said.
At 7:47 a.m., "in the area of County Road 105 near State Route 24," Southampton Town Police responded to the crash of a vehicle into a tree. Robert Burgazzoli, 36, the car's driver, had been traveling south on County Road 105, police said in a news release.
The second person, who was not identified, has life-threatening injuries, police said.
Members of Flanders Ambulance and the Flanders Fire Department, Southampton Town police detectives and State Police Accident Reconstruction officers responded to the crash.
Southampton Town Police Detective Division asked that anyone with information about the crash call them at 631-702-2230.
